(SPOT.ph) It's been almost four years since hip Hong Kong eatery CHINO opened in BGC, bringing over feisty, flavorful tacos and other Mexican-style eats lent Asian flair. When the pandemic took over, they adapted with takeaway-friendly eats like family platters and cocktail sets that let you bring the experience home. But we've seen how—for many reasons, among them definitely the COVID situation—numerous establishments in Manila have closed in the recent months (and years). Sadly, CHINO MNL will be joining the likes of them as they've announced that they're closing their BGC outpost.

CHINO MNL is closing, at least for now:
"The past four years have been an incredible journey for CHINO MNL and we want to thank each and every one of you for the love and support you’ve given to our team," the CHINO team writes in a social media post. "It is time for us to close this chapter at this location as we work towards other new and exciting projects." In an exchange with the restaurant's Instagram, they explain that CHINO MNL's rental was over and they "decided not to continue leasing the space."
Not all is lost, however, as the post ends with them calling for us to "stay tuned for some exciting announcements." True enough, they explain in our exchange that they're looking for spaces to move the restaurant. "[We] just haven’t found the right space yet." Needless to say, our fingers are crossed that they reopen soon!
