Show Mom your love with these Mother’s Day cakes:
Mango Tango Delight from Kumori
It’s all about the bright-meets-lush pairing of mangoes and cream in Kumori’s special Mother’s-Day dessert, the Mango Tango Delight (P695). It goes by the classic formula of mango cubes, vanilla sponge cake, and chantilly cream—but also gets a subtle buttery upgrade with the addition of a nutty cashew meringue.
Ube Cardamom Marble Sans Rival from Half Saints
Ube, of course, is an all-time favorite cake flavor for Filipinos—but it’s worth introducing Mom to other ways to savor the flavor of the purple yam. Consider Half Saints’ Ube Cardamom Marble Sans Rival, which pairs ube with dessert elements from other parts of the world. This dreamy dessert goes for layers of French mousse in ube and cardamom flavors; homemade ube jam; a salted-caramel buttercream; pili and almond dacquoise; and toppings of dried oranges and mint.
Charlotte from Bizu Patisserie
Charlottes are one of those old-school European cakes with timeless appeal—to this day it almost never fails to please. Wow Mom with the swoon-worthy version by Bizu (P1,950/midi), which goes for a sweet pink hue and goes and a mixed-berry flavor profile. Inside are layers of biscuit cuillere, blackberry mousse, and raspberry gelee; the cake is then topped with fresh assorted berries and Bizu’s macarons, then bordered by ladyfingers and tied with a ribbon.
Pandan Mango Swoon Cake from Butternut Bakery

Butternut Bakery’s come up with the Pandan Mango Swoon Cake (P1,850)—a dessert that features the locally loved pairing of nutty pandan and juicy mangoes, with layers of pandan sponge cake, their own housemade pandan custard, fresh mangoes, pandan frosting, and 24k gold flakes.
Earl Grey Chocolate Tea Cake from Flour Pot Manila
Some moms love cake, some moms love flowers—but Flour Pot’s Earl Grey Chocolate Tea Cake lets you get both in one swoon-worthy go. This stellar dessert has rich yet tender cake layers with local artisanal white chocolate and imbued with Premium Earl Grey Tea from Steuart’s Tea; it’s then slathered with a most billowy blush-pink buttercream that glides like silk on the tongue. Topping off this ensemble are fresh strawberries, dried fruits, herbs, and fresh flowers in season—which also make for a totally stunning treat on the visual front.
Wild Berry Chocolate Pavlova from Tigre y Oliva
When you think of chocolate desserts, what comes to mind is likely a dessert on the uber-rich and decadent end of the spectrum—nothing wrong with that. But it’s fun to switch things up every once in a while, and go for desserts that deliver the flavor of chocolate in a lighter medium. Consider local bean-to-bar chocolate brand Tigre y Oliva’s Wild Berry Chocolate Pavlova (P900)—a crisp-meets-creamy, multi-textural treat with a chocolate meringue base infused with earl grey tea; a layer of vanilla sponge cake; chocolate mousse; a tangy wild berry coulis; and mint cream.
Pistachio Nougat Cake from Honeybon
Honeybon isn’t afraid to channel their nutty side; and in the Pistachio Nougat Cake (P1,250), they shine the spotlight on its characteristically green namesake nut. In each cake are layers of chewy-crisp meringue with nougat and crushed pistachios, in between two layers of plush vanilla chiffon. The entire ensemble is then covered in vanilla whipped cream and crushed pistachios, which also lend the cake a mellow tea-green hue.
Salted Caramel Cheesecake from The Sugar-Free Bakery
Just because Mom’s watching her sugar doesn’t mean she can’t have her fill with a drool-worthy dessert. The Sugar-Free Bakery bakes up all sorts of treats with erythritol in place of sugar, and they’ve come up with the Salted Caramel Cheesecake in time for Mother’s Day. Here, their signature cheesecake gets a lush upgrade with an almond crust on the bottom, plus a drizzle of salted “caramel” and adornments of chocolate hazelnut balls on top.
