(SPOT.ph) Trends come and go, but pizza is eternal—the way these generally savory pies of Italian origin bring together the carb-y goodness of its yeasted crust, gooeyness of cheese, and added depth of flavor from other toppings always, always has our hearts (and stomachs). Manila is home to its own share of stellar pizza spots, and three have been recognized as part of the 2022 Asia-Pacific edition of Italian online publication 50 Top Pizza: Crosta Pizzeria, Wildflour Italian, and a mano.

These homegrown spots made it to the coveted list of 50 Top Pizza in the Asia-Pacific region:
Crosta Pizzeria gets the 32nd spot on the list; with their unconventional (yet damn-delish) topping combos on their signature sourdough crust, it's not hard to see why. (Pro tip: they're pretty much the best local spot that's mastered the art of the 'roni cup.) Meanwhile, landing in the 38th spot is Wildflour Italian—the resident pizza-and-pasta focused spot of Wildflour—and their brick-oven pies with Wildflour's signature way of doing classics right are always a good idea.
a mano—known for their traditional-leaning pizzas cooked in their red Valoriani oven—also lands in 48th place. The restaurant also received the One to Watch 2022 Solania award, with 50 Top Pizza praising their use of traditional Italian methods to bring out the best of fresh ingredients—along with their A+ dough and quality toppings.
50 Top Pizza is an online guide updated annually, listing the "best pizzerias in the world" of different styles. Included in their assessment criteria are the pizza; the service; the space, ambiance, and decor; the wait (e.g., how the "flow of customers is managed" in the restaurant); the wine; the beer; and other beverages.
