Psst, Basic Bishes: Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte Is Back for a Limited Time

(SPOT.ph) Here in the Philippines it's almost only ever hot and hotter. (We're talking about the weather of course.) But in other parts of the world there are what they consider to be four seasons with distinctly different climate conditions. Come autumn, it's all about pumpkin-spice everything in the States; among those icons is Starbucks' famous Pumpkin Spice Latte, which has been one of the brand's most popular seasonal drinks since its introduction in 2004. Us Philippines-dwelling folk got to channel our inner basic b*tch as the brand finally brought it to our shores in 2018; never mind that we don't actually have the fall season here, you can't argue with the premise of warming spices, earthy pumpkin, and robust ol' espresso coming together. It recently made its comeback in the U.S., and now we too get to join in the (faux) fall fun—no harm in that—as the drink is back in Starbucks' Philippine branches!

It's officially pumpkin-spice latte season at Starbucks:

You read that right: Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte is making its comeback starting today, September 13 and for a limited time. This fan-fave drink takes the classic latte combo up a notch with a pumpkin-spice sauce joining the classic tandem of espresso and milk—plus a topping of whipped cream to boot. This is available in hot and iced (starts at P175/tall) as well as blended frappuccino (starts at P180) variations. Should you prefer a more coffee-heavy blend, go for the Pumpkin Spice Cream Cold Brew (starts at P195/tall) that's got a pumpkin cream cold foam atop Starbucks' vanilla syrup-sweetened cold brew.

Starbucks also has a new baby to boot: meet the Brown Sugar Soymilk Ice Shaken Espresso (starts at P175/tall), a taho-esque beverage of hand-shaken espresso, plant-based milk, and brown sugar syrup. There's also its more decadent, iced-blended cousin, the Brown Sugar Cocoa Oatmilk Frappuccino (starts at P195/tall). To go with your drink(s) of choice, you'll want to make room for their new and returning seasonal food faves—which include the like of the warming Apple Pumpkin Naked Cake (P220/slice, P1,760/whole), savory Ham and Cheese Crepe (P185), tropical-leaning Mango Coconut Mousse Cake (P186/slice, P1,850/whole), and more.

Starbucks is an American coffee chain that was established in the '70s. They came to the Philippines in 1997, bringing with them their signature coffee drinks and pastries, and have been a favorite among Filipinos ever since. Other bestsellers at Starbucks are the Caramel Macchiato and Mocha Frappuccino.
