No More Scalping? PULP Live World to Print Names on Concert Tickets
You can transfer ticket ownership with a few extra steps.
(SPOT.ph) Looks like we'll be saying goodbye to scalpers with PULP Live World’s new initiative to have ticket holder’s names printed on the physical concert ticket. From now on, concertgoers will have to present the physical concert ticket with a matching valid ID to enter the venue.
PULP Chief Operating Officer Happee Sy has been keen on finding a solution to this problem after a flood of ticket scalping reports came in last December. Although we have local ordinances against this illegal practice (read: Quezon City’s Ordinance No. SP-2744 S-2018), it does little to prevent ticket scalpers from taking advantage of fans.
“To everyone buying tickets for our show… please do not transact with other sellers outside of @smtickets & @TicketNetPH. Do not allow yourself be scammed. For my next @smtickets ticketing, your names will be on the ticket already. So NO transferring is allowed. Pls be informed,” Sy tweeted on March 28.
The first PULP Live World event to reflect this new policy is K-pop group NCT Dream's concert on April 29 and 30, with ticket selling to be held on April 2.
Those buying tickets online will have to ensure that the SM Tickets account used is registered under the name of the person watching the concert.
Lining up for friends? No problem. Ticket buyers also have the option to purchase multiple tickets under his/her name as long as they will also be part of the group watching the show. They must enter the verification booth together to present the physical concert tickets and valid ID of the ticket purchaser.
Tickets will be confiscated if they are found to have been bought by scalpers. In addition, the ticket holder will also be blacklisted from all future shows.
However, transferring ticket ownership is still possible with a few extra steps.

How to transfer concert ticket ownership in PULP Live World
In cases of emergencies where the original ticket holder will no longer be able to attend the event, they will be asked to fill out a ticket transfer form. More guidelines will be released by PULP Live World for every new concert.
For the NCT Dream Tour in particular, concertgoers can access this ticket transfer form until April 24, 10 p.m. No advance registration, no ticket name transfer allowed.
On show day, the new ticket holder must present the following requirements at the verification booth:
- Physical concert ticket (name will be printed on the physical ticket)
- Photocopy of the original ticket holder’s valid ID (must contain his/her full name and a picture of his/her face)
- Original hard copy of the authorization letter with handwritten signature from the original ticket holder (must match the signature on the valid ID presented)
- Supporting document that proves the reason for transfer (medical certificate, flight ticket, exam permit, etc.)
- New ticket holder’s valid ID (must contain his/her full name and a picture of his/her face)
Sy didn’t specify what other upcoming shows will reflect this new policy apart from NCT Dream, but she replied in a tweet that this is not applicable to non-K-Pop shows for now. Future PULP Live World shows include The 1975, Red Velvet, EXO-SC, Mr. Big, Two Door Cinema Club, Against the Current, and The Corrs.
This new policy is far from foolproof, but this extra step could just be what inconveniences scalpers enough to stop hoarding tickets.
