Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Drops on Netflix Soon

(SPOT.ph) While news of a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse live concert was enough to excite everyone’s Spidey Sense, fans of the superhero will be treated to a double dose of Spider-fun by this holiday season when the animated sequel Across the Spider-Verse makes its Netflix debut this December.
As seen in Netflix’s New & Upcoming tab, this year’s highly acclaimed animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be dropping on Netflix in less than two weeks time, on December 6. The film joins its predecessor Into the Spider-Verse and the Andrew Garfield The Amazing Spider-Man duology, both franchises currently streaming on Netflix.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Streaming on Netflix PH
The sequel Across the Spider-Verse follows Spider-Man Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) as he reunites with Gwen Stacy’s Spider-Woman (Hailee Steinfeld) and meets an organization of multiversal Spider-Men, led by 2099’s Spider-Man Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac), all of whom work together to keep the Spider-Verse from collapsing.
The film follows the trailblazing footsteps of the 2018 animated film Into the Spider-Verse, which was the first cinematic depiction of the Spider-Man multiverse, and the highest-grossing live-action Spider-Man film, No Way Home, in 2021. However, the film acts as the first half of a two-parter, with the next film in the trilogy, Beyond the Spider-Verse recently being indefinitely postponed from its original March 2024 release date.
Not to worry though, as Sony intends to fill out their 2024 release schedule with movies centered around Spider-Man’s supporting and villainous characters. The plans for Sony’s Spider-Man Universe in 2024 include Madame Web (starring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney) in February, Kraven the Hunter (starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson) in August, and the final chapter of Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy in November.
All this to say December is looking like a pretty good time to catch Across the Spider-Verse at home and dissect it frame-by-frame for as much Spider-people easter eggs we can find.
