Must-Watch Movies This June 2024

(SPOT.ph) There's nothing quite like having thousands of films at your fingertips, but you have to admit waiting for a flick to hit theaters or streaming platforms brings a certain adrenaline scrolling through readily available options just can't give. New movies are hitting cinemas and your favorite streaming apps every month, and just in case you're too busy to keep track, we're rounding up a list of titles to look forward to in June. Bad Boys: Ride Or Die

Release date: June 7

If you love a good buddy cop, action-packed flick with a generous sprinkling of comedy, you can't miss Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The Bad Boys for Life sequel sees Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprising their roles as Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett respectively—except this time, they're the ones on the run. The duo must delve deep into the corruption within the Miami police department when their late Captain Conrad Howard is posthumously accused of involvement with the Romanian mafia. Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Jacob Scipio, Joe Pantoliano, and DJ Khaled also reprise their roles.

Inside Out 2

Release date: June 12

Sure, you've seen Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust in Inside Out, but you would know by now that the real world and all its accompanying feelings are way more complicated than just five emotions. Inside Out 2 still follows Riley and her emotions on haywire, this time with the inclusion of four new emotions: Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment. Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan are set to return to lend their voices to the OG cast, with Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulo, and Paul Walter Hause joining in on the fun as the new emotions.

The Watchers

Release date: June 12

Starring Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouéré, The Watchers is a treat for the horror lovers out there. When 28-year-old artist Mina gets stranded in vast forest in Ireland, she unwillingly becomes trapped with three other strangers who are haunted by cryptic creatures every night. The master of twist endings M. Night Shyamalan is on-board as produce, with his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan helming the film in her directorial debut.

A Quiet Place: Day One

Release date: June 26

As if the world ending isn't horrific enough, count on screenwriter John Krasinski to make it all the more terrifying with supernatural occurrences. A Quiet Place: Day One is directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on a story created with Krasinski. Though it's coming out after A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II, the third installment in the A Quiet Place film series actuall serves as a spin-off prequel that details the events before the first film. A woman named Sam, played by Lupita Nyong'o must survive the wrath of bloodthirsty alien creatures with ultrasonic sound hearing on New York City. Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Djimon Hounsou are also set to star.
