Inside Out 2 Rakes in P88.8M on Opening Day in PH Cinemas
Now the third-highest opening-day earner.
(SPOT.ph) It's safe to say that the highly anticipated Inside Out 2 is healing the nation's inner children, as it shattered opening-day box office records in the Philippines.
Walt Disney Studios announced on Facebook that Inside Out 2 raked in an impressive P88.8 million in sales on its opening day, making it the third-highest opening day earner in Philippine cinema history, following behind Avengers: Endgame in 2019 and Avengers: Infinity War in 2018.
The sequel immerses viewers in the mind of a newly-minted teenager, Riley, as Headquarters faces an unexpected demolition to accommodate new emotions. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust navigate the arrival of Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment, which adds an intriguing dynamic to the storyline.
Inside Out 2 premiered in the Philippines on June 12 and is currently showing in theaters nationwide.

An Overview of Inside Out 2
If you've seen the first film, you'll know that Riley's emotions are orchestrated by Joy—voiced by Amy Poehler—a yellow, manic pixie with blue hair. But when Riley and her parents move to a new city, Sadness—voiced by Phyllis Smith—takes over, making little Riley spiral into depression. Of couse, in true Pixar fashion, the emotions still find a harmonious balance, and the film ends with Riley back to being a happy child.
In Inside Out 2, Joy continues to lead along with Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust as they monitor and influence Riley's thoughts and actions using a control console. But as Riley grows older, the control console becomes more complex, and with puberty comes new challenges for her.
A mysterious new button labeled "Puberty" on the console starts causing trouble, introducing new emotions such as Anxiety, an orange-colored character with excitable hair voiced by Maya Hawke, Envy, Embarrassment, and the French-accented Ennui. The animated film provides a poignant reflection of the challenges faced by teenagers as they navigate this stage of life.
