Concerts to Watch in December 2024

(SPOT.ph) We're down to the last month of the year and you know what that means: You've got to end it with a bang! Lined up for December are the best of local acts across different genres, some foreign artists, and a fanmeet in the mix. All the shows take place before Christmas and New Year's Eve so you don't have to worry about moving your vacation plans and going out on holidays. V1BE MANILA 2024

When: December 3
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

Akon defined the 2000s with his chart-topping hits, and it's only fitting that we still sing along to every word when it comes on the radio or at a party two decades later. The American-Senegalese singer of "Smack That, "Lonely," "Right Now (Na Na Na)," "I Wanna Love You," and "Don't Matter" fame will be back in Manila after 15 years to headline V1BE MANILA alongside SB19’s Pablo, EZ Mil, Lucas, Flow G, and Gloc-9. Local artists Chocolate Factory, DJ Kate Jagdon, Dappest X adL, Legit Misfitz round up the the fest's line-up.

December Avenue

When: December 6
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

There's no way you haven't heard the hits of Filipino band December Avenue, and now here's your chance to see them live. You're probably still singing along to "Kung 'Di Rin Lang Ikaw" thanks to Hello, Love, Again, but their other LSS-inducing tracks like "Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig," "Huling Sandali," and "Bulong" deserve a spot on your heavy rotations playlist, too.

Alamat

When: December 6
Where: New Frontier Theater

Join Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomás, R-Ji, and Alas of Filipino boy group ALAMAT as they embark on their second solo concert RAGASA: The Concert with special guests Nik Makino, DWTA, and Innah Bee. We have no doubts they'll perform "Maharani," but we're also pretty pumped for "Sa Panaginip Na Lang," "Day and Night," and "Dayang". Fun fact: The members of the group come from different regions in the Philippines and sing in their own respective languages!

Porter Robinson

When: December 8
Where: New Frontier Theater

American electronic music producer Porter Robinson is coming to Manila for the first time for his SMILE! :D World Tour. Initially, the concert was set to take place in Podium Hall but the venue has since been upgraded to the New Frontier Theater due to demand. We've been waiting a while to hear "Knock Yourself Out XD," "Cheerleader," and "Perfect Pinterest Garden" from his SMILE! :D album live, along with his older tracks "Shelter," "Everything Goes On," and "Goodbye To A World".

Fujii Kaze

When: December 10
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze is dropping by Philippines for the Manila stop of his Best of Fujii Kaze 2020-2024 ASIA TOUR. His 2020 hit "Shinunoga E-Wa" went viral in the summer of 2022 and had people singing in straight Japanese despite the lack of fluency—proof that music transcends language. His more recent album LOVE ALL SERVE ALL also houses some of his other good songs like "Matsuri" and "Garden".

Air Supply

When: December 5, 9, 11
Where: Different venues in Bacolod, Cebu, and Davao

Australian soft-rock duo Air Supply is coming to the Philippines for not one, not two, but three nights, all at different locations. The show on December 5 will take place at SMX Convention Center - Bacolod, while December 9 will be at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. The last stop on December 11 will be at the SMX Convention Center - Davao. Get ready to hear their hits "All Out of Love," "Making Love Out of Nothing at All," and "Lost In Love".

Denise Julia

When: December 14
Where: New Frontier Theater

Filipino R&B singer Denise Julia is ready for more mature roles: holding her own solo concert for fans. The Sweet Nothings: The Denise Julia Experience will take place at the New Frontier Theater on December 14, and the singer said she did her best to keep prices as a low as possible so people who have been with her since day one can join her on this journey. Of course, we won't miss the chance to hear "NVMD," "Butterflies," "B.A.D.," "Lackin'," and "twin flames" live.

Ben&Ben

When: December 14
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

Nine-piece Filipino band Ben&Ben is gearing up for The Traveller Across Dimensions Concert this December, which is a show inspired by the concept of their upcoming album of the same name. Journey through the Dimensions of Light, Energy, and Feel with your fellow traveler Liwanag, accompanied by the band's songs like "Courage," "Comets," and "Triumph." As much as this is an album-focused concert, our fingers are crossed that we get to hear the classics "Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay," "Kathang Isip," "Pagtingin," "Araw-Araw," and "Leaves," too.

Jung Hae In

When: December 21
Where: New Frontier Theater

Love Next Door main lead Jung Hae In is making his way to Manila to spread the K-Drama whimsy and romance to Filipino fans with his OUR TIME Fan Meeting. It's actually his fourth time in the country, following the success of his past dramas While You Were Sleeping, Prison Playbook, D.P., and Snowdrop. Unlike the usual concert which offers mostly singing and dancing, expect a variety of performances and talking time with fans, along with an opportunity to see another side of the handsome actor.
