(SPOT.ph) It's been a long time since we last saw Sunshine Dizon, Karylle Yuzon, Diana Zubiri, and Iza Calzado all together onscreen. After all, it's been 12 years since the last episode of Encantadia aired on GMA and 13 years since its crossover movie with Mulawin. (Yup, that happened.) While there was an Encantadia remake not too long ago, it's just not the same. But the good news is, you can see the original Sang'gres back together in a new movie that's coming out in February 2019.
It was in January that Dizon, Yuzon, Zubiri, and Calzado posted photos of themselves together in a meeting. In a report by PEP, it was confirmed that the four just wrapped up filming a new movie with Encantadia director Mark Reyes. It's reportedly set to be released on iflix, where Encantadia is one of the most-streamed shows.
The stars also served as executive producers on the project under Sang'gre Productions. "Sobrang nag-enjoy kami sa production side, tutok talaga. Kami ni Diana ang sumisilip sa expenses report. Sina Karylle and Iza, ayaw nila ng numbers kaya sa marketing aspect sila. Balanseng-balanse kami. Si Direk Mark naman is on the creative side," Dizon shares.Â
She also talks about how the show became timeless. "Parang hindi naman naluluma yung istorya ng original Encantadia. Siguro, mas maganda lang ang effects ngayon, pero story-wise, maganda pa rin. Nandoon pa rin yung magic, hindi puwedeng maluma. Classic talaga siya, it ages well."
Not a lot of details have been revealed about the reunion movie, but Dizon says she's just excited for the fans to see them all together again. "'Yong fan base namin before sinabayan lang kami. Even our simple social media posts, every time na sabay kaming nagpo-post, grabe 'yong likes and comments. Amazing talaga. May clamor talaga ang fans na magsama-sama kami."
