(SPOT.ph) Director Mikhail Red is getting everyone hyped for his upcoming thriller, Block Z, which will have Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia battling it out in a zombie apocalypse. The director has been dropping teasers on his social media accounts since the start of 2019, but with the shoot set to wrap up in May, the sneak peeks have been getting more and more exciting.
Red calls it, "The first large-scale zombie movie of Star Cinema." And by the looks of it (and those scary AF zombies), he's living up to the title.Â
Our first look at the film was back in February when Red posted a pic of JoshLia, complete with Barretto wielding an axe, on his Instagram account. The caption reveals their character names as PJ and Lucas.
Then, in a previous post, we got a few more tidbits on the cast which includes Ian Veneracion, Ina Raymundo, Dimples Romana, Maris Racal, and McCoy de Leon.
The film is set in a quarantined university where the students battle through a zombie apocalypse, doing their best to make it out alive.
Red’s track record includes acclaimed films like Birdshot and Eerie—so you can only expect bloody good things from Block Z when it’s released in December 2019.
