(SPOT.ph) From his punchy spoken word pieces to his sassy portrayals of a friend just looking out for you, Juan Miguel Severo is a man of many talents. It comes as no surprise then that the artist has forayed into scriptwriting. If you haven't caught the award-winning QCinema film Hintayan ng Langit on the big screen, Netflix has you covered, with the movie scheduled to premiere on the streaming service on June 12.
Directed by Dan Villegas under Project 8 Corner San Juan Projects and Globe Studios, the film tells the tale of Manolo (Eddie Garcia) and Lisang (Gina Pareño), two ex-lovers whose souls find solace in each other's company while waiting in purgatory.
This is Juan Miguel Severo's first credit as scriptwriter for a film, and with its limited release prompting a nationwide run, the artist proves that his words, even when used in a different style and medium, transcend age and states of being.
Hintayan ng Langit premieres on Netlfix on June 12.
