Catch Free Screenings of Eddie Garcia's Cinemalaya Films Tomorrow

(SPOT.ph) With a career that spans decades and a body of work that transcends genre, platform, and time, Eddie Garcia left behind a legacy like no other. The Cultural Center of the Philippines' Arthouse Cinema will be screening two of Garcia's award-winning Cinemalaya films for free on June 27 at the CCP Tanghalang Manuel Conde.
Jun Lana's Bwakaw is a drama-comedy that narrates the travails of growing old. It stars Garcia as Rene, a 70-year-old gay man who looks after a dog named Bwakaw. Screening starts at 2 p.m.
The second movie in the lineup is Benedict Mique's ML. It follows the story of a college student on the search for accounts on what Martial Law in the Philippines was like. Screening starts at 5 p.m.
Garcia won the Cinemalaya Best Performance by an Actor in 2012 and 2018 for both his roles in Bwakaw and ML.
Entry will be on a strict first-come, first-served basis. Registration outside the theater starts 30 minutes before each screening.
