(SPOT.ph) Let's face it, there's nothing quite like waiting for your favorite TV show to air a new episode. If you're looking for a big-budget action-fantasy series that can fill the hole in your watching schedule, HBO and BBC have you covered: His Dark Materials will premiere on November 5 on HBO Go and HBO at 10 a.m.
Based on the trilogy by Philip Pullman, the first season follows Lyra (Dafne Keen) as she traverses different worlds in order to rescue a missing friend, and uncovers a convoluted plot involving stolen children. Along the way, she searches for answers in order to understand the strange phenomenon called Dust. You'll get to see James McAvoy as scholarly aristocrat Lord Asriel, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as the adventurer Lee Scoresby, who is often embroiled in trouble.Â
The series features a lot of characters, including magical creatures and talking polar bears. Rounding out the cast are Ruth Wilson as Mrs. Coulter, Clarke Peters as The Master of Jordan College, James Cosmo as Farder Coram, Anne-Marie Duff as Ma Costa, with Will Keen as Father MacPhail and Ariyon Bakare as Lord Boreal.
