(SPOT.ph) It's been over five years since 2015 pinoy rom-com That Thing Called Tadhana introduced us to Mace (Angelica Panganiban) and Anthony (JM De Guzman), who meet by chance at an airport and end up taking an impromptu trip to Baguio together. Along the way, they discuss relationships, destiny, and heartbreak while developing a close connection and learning more about each other. The film ended on a rather ambiguous note and like many movies that do so, you've probably been wondering what happened to the two main characters afterwards. Well, you can finally rest easy because your questions are about to be answered: Writer and director Antoinette Jadaone released a mini series on YouTube showing what happened to Mace and Anthony after the events of the film!
The series currenly has two episodes posted on Jadaone's YouTube channel. In the description of the first, Jadaone reminisces about writing the film's script (which took her a mere two months), how the story was inspired by her own personal experiences and insights, and how much of her writing in her college days had led her to creating the 2015 film. Jadaone was only 28 when she wrote the script.
From there, she describes writing "the first sequences of the supposed sequel of Tadhana in 2017 without knowing if and when it will be made." In the process of doing so, Jadaone was contacted by Tadhana's editor Benjamin Tolentino, who was studying at the American FIlm Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles at the time. Tolentino needed a short film to edit for his studies and he asked Jadaone to send him what would become the first episode of Mace and Anthony meeting again. "This is how I imagine it to be," says Jadaone about the pair's reunion, which takes place entirely on Facebook Messenger.
The just-under-three-minutes first episode entitled "What if Mace and Anthony Meet Again?" was posted on YouTube on April 21. It shows Mace and Anthony reconnecting over Facebook after two years of no contact. The two joke around like old friends and if you've seen the film, you'll easily be able to imagine the actors' voices reciting the words even as they're being typed. The two plan to meet up, but an unexpected hurdle gets in the way.

A second episode of the series was posted on May 1, with the entire thing still taking place online. We're crossing our fingers that Jadaone will continue to release more episodes in this intriguing saga. Who knows? Maybe Panganiban and De Guzman would even be willing to meet up over video call a la John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. If you've seen That Thing Called Tadhana, you already know Mace would've gotten that reference in a heartbeat!
That Thing Called Tadhana is available to watch online on YouTube and on Netflix.
