Olivia Rodrigo and That BTS Grammys Moment Has Twitter in the Funniest Jealousy Frenzy
Kim Taehyung has ARMY singing, "you betrayed me!"
(SPOT.ph) Social media is in an uproar over a very brief, but incredibly spicy moment between Olivia Rodrigo and Kim Taehyung (aka V of BTS) during the 2022 Grammy’s. The 64th Annual Grammy Awards took place on April 3rd in Las Vegas, where the pair broke the internet with their flirtatious opening skit that led into BTS’ performance of their hit song “Butter”.
Pop artist Olivia Rodrigo was nominated for 7 Grammy’s, ultimately winning Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance, and the coveted Best New Artist awards. Meanwhile, BTS’ hit “Butter” was nominated for Best Duo/Group Performance, an award which ultimately went to Doja Cat and SZA for the song “Kiss Me More”.
Olivia Rodrigo Ignites Jealousy From BTS Fans After Flirtatious Skit With Taehyung at Grammy’s
During a rehearsed opening skit prior to BTS’ performance of “Butter,” Taehyung and Olivia appear seated beside each other and have an inaudible exchange wherein Olivia laughs and smiles at Taehyung. Taehyung then whispers into Olivia’s ear before pulling out a card and throwing it to the stage.
BTS fans were quick to comment on the skit, with harmless jealousy being the predominant mood of fans’ reactions. Long-time fans of the Korean pop group are still getting used to seeing BTS interact with Western artists and celebrities, particularly female artists, outside of collabs. However, fans were quick to point out that Taehyung has always had a flirty and sultry way about him, so there was no reason to hate on Olivia.
Interestingly, Olivia Rodrigo's age was a trending search of the night—the young pop artist had just turned 19 years old in February 2022, while Taehyung recently turned 26 in December 2021.
Amid all the online frenzy, Olivia walked home a winner in many ways from the Grammy’s, and will no doubt be relishing in being the object of social media envy for now.
