(SPOT.ph) It's been nearly a year now since we've last been able to visit Moordale Secondary School in the acclaimed Netflix coming-of-age dramedy series Sex Education. While most of the cast members are certainly excited to be returning to their "face-to-face classes" (because they don't have to struggle with commuting in the Philippines) when filming for the fourth season begins next summer, there will be a couple of fan-favorite characters that officially won't be returning.

Here's what we know about the Sex Education Season 4 cast:
Tanya Reynolds, who portrays the alien-loving, uhm, storyteller Lily Iglehart, and Patricia Allison, who portrays the former new girl Ola Nyman, have revealed that they both won't be returning for the fourth season of Sex Education.
"It's just the natural progression of these shows," Reynolds told RadioTimes. "When you have such big ensemble casts and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing, the way it should happen."
Reynolds' and Allison's characters on the show began dating towards the end of the second season and were still together by the finale of the third season, despite the season depicting their struggles to be intimate with one another.
The third season ended with the main school setting closing down, which forced the characters to be separated from one another, as they'd have to find schooling in different places. This major shake-up will reportedly allow for a "creative reset" in the show's fourth season.
Main cast members like Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson are expected to return, but no cast member's return have been officially confirmed as of yet. There's the possibility that Ncuti Gatwa, who portrays Otis' best friend Eric, may not return, as he was recently announced to be the next actor to portray Doctor Who.
We expect to hear official confirmation on the cast before the season begins filming in the summer.
