(SPOT.ph) While the sub-genre of isekai anime is known to literally take you to fantastic and hyper-stylized worlds, there's no better way of experiencing escapism through entertainment than by sitting in a movie theater and getting swept away by your heightened emotions thanks to the film. Anime fans have been particularly fortunate with this year's grand return to cinemas, with Jujutsu Kaisen 0 having dropped in cinemas and Dragon Ball SUPER: Super Hero also on the way.
However, there is one anime feature fans are waiting on the edge of their seat to catch in cinemas, and that's none other than One Piece Film: Red. It's previously been known that the film would drop in Philippine cinemas sometime in September, but now we have the exact release date.

Here's the One Piece Film Red release date for Philippine cinemas:
Southeast Asian distributor Odex has announced that there will be fan screenings of One Piece Film: Red in the Philippines on September 17 and 18. This lines up with Odex's previous announcement that the anime feature film will have fan screenings in mid-September at selected SM Cinemas.
Red is the first One Piece film to have a theatrical release since Stampede dropped in cinemas in the pre-pandemic times. While One Piece feature films are not considered to share the same canon as the manga or the anime, fans of the long-running franchise do always keep close tabs on all One Piece-related material, as its creator Eiichiro Oda loves to leave subtle hints and teases to upcoming major storylines in all his works.
Eiichiro was reportedly heavily involved in Red as an executive producer and script reviewer, so we can expect the Will of the D to still shine through.
The film's story revolves around Uta, the One Piece world's greatest diva with an "otherworldly" voice, who turns out to be the daughter of Shanks, one of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the most powerful characters in the series.
One Piece Film: Red will have fan screenings on September 17 and 18 at selected SM Cinemas. For more information, check out the official ODEX Philippines Facebook page.
