Lolo From McDonald's Karen Po Commercial Passes Away

(SPOT.ph) A simple interaction between a grandfather and his favorite granddaughter touched many when the classic McDonald's Karen Po commercial first came out in 2001. Rudy Francisco, the actor who played the forgetful but darling lolo, passed away on May 8, at 96 years old. 

Karen delos Reyes, who played the favorite apo Karen, took to Instagram to express her condolences. "Sad day today. Rest in peace Lolo Rudy Francisco," she wrote. 

Francisco was an actor who worked for Sampaguita Pictures in the '50s before eventually pursuing a legal career. The Karen Po commercial was his first acting role after a decades-long hiatus.
