Local Celebs Show Support for the SOGIE Equality Bill

(SPOT.ph) Pinoy celebrities are no strangers to Philippine politics. But they don't need to be politicians to draw the everyday Pinoy's attention to the issues. With their influence and visibility, they have the platform to shed light on matters that affect us all, like preserving the environment or fighting for equality.
In August, transgender woman Gretchen Diez was barred from using a women's restroom in a Quezon City mall, an incident that renewed calls to pass the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression or SOGIE Bill. Senator Risa Hontiveros had refiled it during the 18th Congress. The bill aims to extend the same human rights to members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
