Maris Racal's Secret Birthday-Photoshoot Weapon? The Humble Tabo
The birthday girl shared some hilarious BTS moments from the shoot.
(SPOT.ph) Disclaimer: It's not much of a secret anymore, especially since Maris Racal gave the bath dippers a shout-out on her social media pages, but dang, is it still hilarious. Our meme queen turned 24 on September 22—and she celebrated in style. Maris Racal had a photoshoot with photographer BJ Pascual to mark her 24th. Needless to say, the power combo and their team came out with an absolutely stunning shoot that would have Umbrella-era Rihanna shaking! Best part? Those water splashes are partially thanks to the tabo.
Maris Racal Celebrated Her Birthday With a Stunning Shoot, Tabo Included
Racal shared a hilarious peek at the behind-the-scenes of her water-themed shoot with Pascual on her Twitter and Instagram—with the tabo picture front and center. We can't believe it still somehow looks like a renaissance painting (if they had plastic tabos back then). She even accompanied her IG post with a cheeky "Basta ganito ako sa CR dati, kunwari may shower."
In her vlog about how they got the shoot done, Racal and Pascual shared that they've been planning it since during The Before COVID times! Yup, it took more than a year and three ECQs before it finally happened. They managed to do it in time for Racal's birthday and clearly, their efforts were so worth it.
If you're wondering how they did it, both Racal's vlog and Pascual's Musings episode on their respective YouTube channels show what went on behind the scenes. Racal posed in a shallow pool of water—with people literally just splashing her with water using their hands or, of course, a dipper. Logically speaking, it totally makes sense; it's just that seeing how it was done (read: a struggle) and comparing it with the end-result (read: those stunning pictures) is beyond hilarous.
