Slain carjacker Ivan Padilla lived in Forbes, partied with the Alabang Boys, got into crime because of drugs, say police
The 23-year-old car theft syndicate leader Ivan Padilla, killed during a shoot-out with the police in Makati on August 2, got into the criminal business to buy illegal drugs, the police told TV Patrol World. The report also revealed that Padilla lived at the upscale Forbes Park in Makati, according to his driver’s license. He also had an Ayala Alabang Village Association ID, and partied with the alleged drug dealers dubbed "Alabang Boys," said National Capital Region Police Office Intel Chief Leo Francisco.
Supt. Maristelo Manalo told Inquirer.net that Padilla was "good-looking" like road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler, was fluent in English and had rich friends--"That’s why you wouldn’t mistake him for a robber." Padilla’s gang is suspected of stealing the vehicles of former Ambassador Roberto Romulo, the father of actor Derek Ramsay and a Japanese citizen.
According to Inquirer.net there were two initial police reports: one saying Padilla and a companion were arrested, and the other saying Padilla died in the hospital. The police maintained that Padilla was killed in a shoot-out that he initiated.
Manalo told Inquirer.net that Padilla’s parents are in prison due to drug charges.
