Junjun Binay still grieving wife’s death, to comment on Kris’s revelations would be inappropriate, says Binay spokesman
Because Makati Mayor Junjun Binay and his four children are still grieving over his late wife’s death, it would be "inappropriate" for Binay to comment on Kris Aquino’s revelation on the possibility of them dating given certain conditions, Binay’s spokesman Joey Salgado said in a report by ABS-CBNNews.com.
"Mayor Junjun lost his wife [Kennely Ann] almost a year ago. He and his children are still grieving," Salgado said. Kennely Ann died giving birth to their fourth child on August 11, 2009, according to PEP.ph.
Binay’s father, Vice President Jejomar Binay, was tight-lipped on the issue as well. He told SNN as reported by Sunstar.com.ph, "Ipaubaya na natin sa kanila lahat ’yan. Nasa sapat na edad ang mga ’yan."
Among the celebrities and politicians linked to Aquino, who is seeking a declaration of nullification of her marriage to cager James Yap, Binay is the only one she has been communicating with, Aquino told SNN in July. She insisted that Binay is not courting her and called him her best friend. But she also said she would say yes to a dinner date with him next year only if her siblings and sons would be comfortable with her dating again, if her new show Pilipinas, Win na Win! would be doing well, and if she herself would be okay. "Why? Dahil alam ko na hindi niya ako lolokohin... Nasa kanya ’yong mga qualities that I admire in a man," she said as reported by PEP.ph.
