Jackie Chan Tweets about the hostage crisis: "We do not hate!"
International action star Jackie Chan Tweeted today, August 25 his sentiments on the hostage crisis at the Quirino Grandstand on August 23, reports GMANews.tv. PEP.ph reports that Chan, who is based in Hong Kong Tweeted: "this kind of things always happen around the world. It happened to hk’s people, the whole hk is talking about it. Its really sad." He added, "If they killed the guy sooner, they will say why not negotiate first? If they negotiate first, they ask why not kill the guy sooner?"
"HK is a nation built by a lot of different people..don’t worry! We do not hate!" Chan said. " We already have so many natural disasters..typhoon, tsunami, everything. Humans should be united and not kill or hate each other."
Told about Chan’s tweets, presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said in an Inquirer.net report, "Thank you, Mr. Jackie Chan. We hope that our friends in Hong Kong would also extend their hand of friendship to us."
