(SPOT.ph) Wanting to upgrade your internet connection for faster speeds? You can enjoy the benefits of a faster internet connection at a lower cost with the latest offer from Elon Musk's SpaceX.
For a limited time in the Philippines, Starlink is slashing the price of its hardware kit by 13% to P19,999 from the original P29,320. This offer is only available until August 31, 2023.
The hardware kit will include the Starlink satellite dish, WiFi route, power supply, cables, and base. Installation should come easy since the satellite dish is self-orienting as long as it has a clear view of the sky.
Do note that this price is still exclusive of the actual internet service, which will cost P2,700 per month. Shipping fee is also pegged at P1,220—at least in Metro Manila, where it will take an estimated two to three weeks to arrive from order.
While it's pricier than other local internet hardware, Starlink's hardware boasts that it can withstand extreme heat, heavy rain, strong winds, and even rocket engines as stated on its website.

What to expect from Starlink Philippines
Starlink's low-earth orbit satellite technology promises a download speed of around 100 Megabits per second (mbps) in the Philippines. Its service is ideal for remote and rural locations where fiber-optic internet is often unavailable.
Last May, connectivity insights platform Ookla put this to the test and found that Starlink in the Philippines is “faster than all other broadband providers combined” in Q1 2023—but this is only applicable for download speed. For everything else, Starlink lags behind its local competitors with an upload speed of 13.69 Mbps and a latency of 162 ms.
The exclusive offer comes with a 30-day free trial so if you decide that Starlink’s not for you, you can have the hardware equipment returned for a full refund.
