Learn AI for Free With Google's AI Skills Development Courses

(SPOT.ph) Over 75% of Filipino professionals believe artificial intelligence (AI) will "significantly" change how they work but this rapid change brings in mixed emotions: 57% feel overwhelmed, while 69% want to learn about AI but don't know how, according to a recent LinkedIn study. If you are one of those who want to learn more about AI, this is for you: Google Philippines rolled out a free AI skills development course through Google Cloud.
The online AI learning course is designed for easy access, according to Yves Gonzalez, Google Philippines' Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy. The aim is this: Make AI and machine learning education accessible to every Filipino, providing them with essential skills that can open up new opportunities in the workplace.
“The good news is this is free. Anyone can access this anytime, anywhere, at no cost. The courses feature a wide array of topics, including the difference between generative AI and other types of AI, responsible AI and machine learning and much more,” Gonzalez was quoted as saying.
Other machine learning and data science courses are also available in Google Cloud for further studies beyond a simple introduction to AI as it is "Google’s goal... to help people get the necessary skills to qualify for well-paying jobs."
How to access free AI courses by Google
Head over to Google Cloud Skills Boost. Those with existing Google accounts (Gmail, YouTube, etc.) will simply need to sign in to access the free courses.
Scroll down a bit to find the Introduction to Generative AI Learning Path, a five-activity course about the fundamentals of AI. It will include the following:
- Introduction to Generative AI
- Introduction to Large Language Models
- Introduction to Responsible AI
- Generative AI Fundamentals
- Applying AI Principles With Google Cloud
In addition, Google has launched three new courses—Business Intelligence, Advanced Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity—in its Google Career Certificates program following the revelation that IT support is the top must-have digital skill for Filipinos.
