(SPOT.ph) Ready to vote this October 30? For the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has revived its online Precinct Finder to help voters find their polling precincts without leaving their homes.

The Precinct Finder is back online starting Tuesday, October 24, giving millions of registered Filipino voters almost a week to find their precincts and check whether their voter status is active or not.

What you'll find in the Comelec Precinct Finder

Once it's done, you'll find there your polling place and precinct number. It will also state whether you are tagged as an active or deactivated voter.

If your status is Active, it means you can go straight ahead to your polling precinct on election day.

If you're curious as to why your status is Deactivated, here are some reasons, according to Comelec:

  • Failure to vote in two successive preceding regular elections
  • Imprisonment for at least one year
  • Conviction of crime on disloyalty to the duly constituted government (e.g. rebellion, coup d' etat, inciting to sedition)
  • Declared insane or incompetent by authority
  • Loss of Filipino citizenship
  • Exclusion by a court order

If ever your SK Election status is Deactivated, don't be surprised if it's because of your being overage. Only those aged 15 to 30 may vote in the SK Elections. Those 31 and over can, of course, vote for their barangay leaders.

In case you want to contest your voter status, you may contact the Office of the Election Officer or email voterverifier@comelec.gov.ph for further verification.
