(SPOT.ph) Metro Manila train lines are breaking down, traffic is reaching new levels of extreme congestion, and people are this close to absolutely losing it. But it seems that wasn't enough just yet. News broke out that the Duterte administration has bought a sleek, new jet for nearly P2 billion (that's nine whole zeroes, BTW), as confirmed by the Department of National Defense. This new plane will be delivered by mid-2020—and as expected, people are not happy with this development.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo defended the decision to buy the nearly P2 billion jet by saying, "The President is so frugal. He doesn’t spend unless necessary," as quoted in a report by the Philippine Star. So we suppose it's safe to assume the nearly P2 billion Gulfstream G280™ business jet was "necessary."
Meanwhile, Panelo also decided to weigh in on the current state of transport in the Metro, saying "Ano bang crisis? Nakakasakay naman sila ah," among other statements. Unsurprisingly, people online have a lot to say about the latest from the spokesperson. We round up the funniest—in an extremely painful way—reactions.
Ever wonder what goes on in his mind?
Time to relenquish the title, it seems.
Really makes you wonder, doesn't it.
When you can't follow anyone's logic anymore.
Congrats to us.
Did they forget about this?
If he says so.
Oh, is that what he meant?
Yup, that's it, that's the article.
