The "Golden Kubeta" Has Been Crowned; Check Out the Winners
The public restrooms you'd actually be willing to poop in.
(SPOT.ph) Raise your hand if you know this feeling: Keeping all your uhm, bad feelings in until you can finally find the perfect toilet worthy of your release! If your hands are way up, then pay attention: The winners of the Golden Kubeta Awards have been named—write them down for the next time you find yourself in a state of emergency. Coming out on top as the People's Choice are the sparkling white toilets of the Far Eastern University with around 10 thousand votes on social media.
The university bagged the winning title for the schools and universities category. Three other winners were named: The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange for the terminals and stations category; the National Museum of Natural History for the government offices category; and Xentro Mall Polangui in Albay for malls and restaurants.
In case you were wondering what makes these restrooms unlike your ordinary kubeta, the deciding factors were functionality, aesthetics, amenities (we suppose the all-important bidet is a huge plus), and overall comfort.
Winners were chosen after a "process that combined physical audits with social media voting," according to a report by Inquirer.net. Social media votes accounted for 20% of the bathroom's points, while a surprise physical check of the bathroom, done by the people behind the Golden Kubeta Awards, accounted for 80%.
The Golden Kubeta Awards are an annual public campaign by the Maynilad Water Services Inc. Since its launch in 2016, the contest has been held to find "the country’s best and cleanest toilets, in order to raise awareness on the importance of proper wastewater management," according to their website.
