(SPOT.ph) Motorcycles will be allowed to use the bike lane on MacArthur Highway in Valenzuela City starting December 25, in what Mayor Wes Gatchalian described as a "Christmas gift" for motorists during the holiday rush.

Allowing motorcycles on the bike lane is seen to decongest roads as more people go out to go shopping, buy gifts, and join holiday-related activities just a few days before Christmas, Gatchalian said.

"Ito ang tanging solusyon na naisip ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela para hindi na mahirapan ang ating mga kababayan ngayong Kapaskuhan," he said in a video message posted on Facebook.
