(SPOT.ph) PITX, short for Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, is the holy grail of all things transportation in, south of, and far beyond Metro Manila. This colossal hub brings together city buses, jeepneys, UV express shuttles, and even provincial buses, all under one roof. It's like a chaotic symphony of engines revving, people rushing, and tickets being handed out like there's no tomorrow. Don't feel bad if you get lost in the shuffle. It's easy to get lost in the bustling terminal but fear not, dear readers, for we are here to equip you with the knowledge to conquer PITX like a boss.

From finding the right platform to boarding the correct vehicle and even whiling away the hours 'til boarding, we round up everything there is to know about this bustling transport hub down south. So, tighten those shoelaces, and put on your most confident commuter face: We're here to make sense of the chaos that is PITX.

How to get to PITX

PITX is located in Paranaque City, in the South of Metro Manila. PITX is easily accessible through several modes of transportation like the LRT, buses, jeeps, and UV Express vans. Check out this guide on how to reach the major land port from several key points in the Metro:

Buses

PITX is considered to be the largest bus terminal in the Metro. It houses several provincial lines and is also a stop for most city buses. The provincial bus routes available in PITX are not only confined to those in Luzon Island. Several buses bound for the Visayas (such as those bound for Iloilo, Bohol, and other Visayan islands) and Mindanao (like those bound for Davao) also have their terminal stations here.

Jeepneys and Modern Urban Vehicles

The "King of Philippine Roads" also make PITX their home. Catch traditional jeepneys bound for:

  • Baclaran
  • Divisoria (via Taft)
  • Divisoria (via Mabini)
  • FTI

Aside from traditional PUJs, PITX is also home to the newer and more Modern Jeepneys. Take these Modern Jeepneys for a ride headed to:

  • Nichols
  • Vito Cruz via Mall of Asia
  • Sucat
  • Tanza, Cavite
  • Dasmarinas, Cavite

Navigating the different areas at PITX

The best tip we can give you so you don't get lost in the 4.5-hectare space PITX occupies is to download the PITX App on the App Store or Google Play. Think of this app as your handy-dandy PITX manual. It has a map feature that carefully details all the major areas in PITX, along with a live list of bus schedules arriving and departing the land port.

But aside from using the app, it is important to know the general lay of the land. PITX has three floors. The first floor is for bus departures, taxi/car pick-ups and drop-offs, and jeepney arrivals and departures. The second floor is solely dedicated to bus arrivals. Lastly, the third floor is mostly open for private car parking and UV Express arrivals and departures.

Ticketing Booths

Once you have arrived at PITX, you cannot simply ride a bus. You must first book your tickets at the ticketing booths scattered around the terminal. There are several located on the first and second floors. You can only book a ticket to your destination at a specific counter. As of writing, here are the ticket booth assignments in PITX:
