The SPOT.ph Guide to Navigating One Ayala

(SPOT.ph) One Ayala is one of the buzziest commuter hubs in recent memory, having only opened in March. This intermodal transport hub is for people seeking various transportation options to head within and far beyond Metro Manila. 

With its strategic location at the corner of EDSA and Ayala Avenue, two of the city's major thoroughfares, One Ayala serves as a vital connection point for jeepneys, public utility vehicles, and buses. Remember the old Intercon? That's where it is now. It can be accessed via Ayala Avenue, Courtyard Drive, and a foot bridge from the Ayala MRT-3 Station on the second level. You can’t miss it.

One Ayala has two floors: PUVs and PUJs can be found on the Lower Ground Level, while City Bus and P2P Buses can be found on the Upper Ground Level. Huge as the terminals are, it’s almost impossible to get lost in One Ayala with bright yellow signages at every corner. Information desks are also available at both floors for extra guidance.

Much of One Ayala is still under construction, but what it currently has is enough for the usual commute: top-notch facilities, cold air-conditioning, and various food stalls lined up at every corner. Many have compared One Ayala to a modern airport for obvious reasons. A walk through the passage from the train station to the bus bays shows that a shopping center will soon pop up; there's also access to office spaces at Tower One and Two of One Ayala. 

More importantly, it's also PWD-friendly with working escalators and elevators in the building. One Ayala is mobility at its best.

PUV terminal

The PUV terminal is located at the Lower Ground Level, operating from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

PUJ terminal

Jeepney operations are a more spontaneous than utility vehicles and buses, but there's always enough of them go to around. PUJ routes from One Ayala go to:

• Pasay-Libertad
• One Ayala-Circuit Makati
• Makati Loop-Landmark
• Zapote/Circuit

Bus terminal

One Ayala’s bus bay is huge, but it is manageable.

Bay 1 is strictly for EDSA Carousel buses. Bay 2 is for buses to Sa. Rosa, Balibago, Pacita, and Binan. Bus 3 is for buses to FTI, Bicutan, Sucat, and Alabang. You can check out the full list of bus routes below.

The bus bay also has food stalls like Siomai King, Potato Corner, Waffle House, Shawarma Shack, Julie’s Bakeshop—all the good stuff. Past the bus bay is the way to Glorietta 4, SM Makati, Courtyard Drive, and Palm Drive.

City bus

Only EDSA Carousel runs for 24 hours. The rest of the routes operate from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. You’ll also need to add P5 on top of the ordinary bus fare for an air-conditioned ride.

• Rosa / Balibago – P102 (air-conditioned)
• Binan – P82 (air-conditioned)
• Pacita – P77 (air-conditioned)
• Alabang – P45 (ordinary) and P50 (air-conditioned)
• Sucat – P30 (ordinary) and P35 (air-conditioned)
• Bicutan – P25 (ordinary) and P30 (air-conditioned)
• FTI – P20 (ordinary) and P24 (air-conditioned)

P2P bus

With the exception of NAIA and Sta. Rosa/Nuvali, all P2P routes will only be available from Monday to Friday.

• NAIA Terminal 1, 2, 3, and 4 – P150
• Fairview – P160 (first trip at 7 a.m. and last trip at 9:30 p.m.)
• Rosa / Nuvali – P200
• Antipolo – P140 (first trip at 6:40 a.m. and the last trip at 8:30 p.m.)
• Katipunan – P100 (first trip at 6:30 a.m. and last trip at 7:30 p.m.)
• Imus – P160 (first trip at 7 a.m. and last trip at 9:15 p.m.)
• Noveleta – P160 (first trip at 6:45 a.m. and last trip at 9:15 p.m.)

UBE Express P2P buses to the NAIA Terminals have more scheduled trips from Monday to Sunday at 7:30 a.m, 10:00 a.m, 12:45 p.m, 3:45 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, P2P buses to Sta. Rosa/Nuvali operate from Monday to Friday, with the first trip at 7:30 a.m. and the last trip at 9:00 p.m. This is the lone P2P route with a Saturday schedule, providing hourly rides starting from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
