According to The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, all Filipinos have to do to visit Taiwan visa free is to ensure they have a definite return trip, accommodations, and a clean criminal record—the bare minimum when planning for any trip abroad. The 14-day period begins the day after your arrival in Taiwan but be sure to plan ahead as it can't be extended!
Visa-free access to Taiwan for Filipinos first started in November of 2017. According to the cultural office, Filipino visitors to the island saw an increase of 44% in 2018, reaching a total of around 419,000.Â
