10 Moments of Kindness Amidst the Taal Volcano Eruption

Just a few shining examples of people helping each other out.

(SPOT.ph) The eruption of Taal Volcano—and its continued severe unrest—on January 12 has caused tens of thousands to flee from their homes, with some even forced to leave their animals behind. The resulting ashfall has covered towns, destroyed crops and livelihoods, as well as rendering the air in nearby areas potentially dangerous to breathe in. Support from local government, official departments, institutes, and ordinary people have poured in as the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology continuously updates on the eruption and earthquakes.

While the past few days have been tense—understatement of the year, we know—there have been a couple of shining moments. A lot of people stepped up to make sure their fellow humans and even animals were safe; enough to bring back some hope for humanity. We round up some of these instances.
