PSA: Here Are the Official Guidelines for Travel Under the "Enhanced Community Quarantine"

According to the Department of Transportation.

( Official travel guidelines have been issued for the "enhanced community quarantine" implemented over the entire Luzon, as announced on March 16 by President Rodrigo Duterte. Part of the new measures include strict home quarantine and the suspension of transport starting from March 17 to 12 a.m. of April 12—all part of keeping the spread of COVID-19 at bay. So in case you're wondering what this means for you, then check out the Department of Transportation's official guidelines:

All mass public transport services have suspended operations, including the Metro Rail Transit Line 3, Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2, and the Philippine National Railway. All other commuter transport services, such as buses, jeepneys, taxis, ride-hailing, and motorcyle taxis have also been suspended.

Moving outside of your house is still allowed—as long as you are on the way to get basic necessities. Only one person per household is allowed to go out and get what's needed, according to the Department of Transportation. Private vehicles can be used for this purpose.

If you don't have a car, it's up to local government units to decide whether to allow and regulate certain transport services. Pasig City is currently allowing tricycles to aid mobility—especially since several food establishments, pharmacies, supermarkets, banks, and BPOs will remain open with a skeletal workforce.

As for air travel, only foreign nationals will be allowed to fly out, as long as it is within 72 hours of the enhanced community quarantine's effectivity. Repatriated Filipinos will also be allowed to fly in.

Travel will be limited to uniformed personnel on official business, especially those who will transport medical supplies, laboratory specimens related to COVID-19, and other humanitarian assistance. Media personnel will also be allowed to travel as long they have a special media pass from the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
