(SPOT.ph) Months into the COVID-19 pandemic and the Philippines is nowhere near in flattening the curve. Not to mention the fact that hospitals are reaching their full capacities. In the front lines of this seemingly hopeless fight against coronavirus are healthcare workers who try their best to care for the sick, riders for delivery services so we don't have to leave our homes, and supermarket and food personnel who risk their lives and still report to work in an effort to keep our supplies stocked. To salute their valiant efforts, Philippine Postal Corporation released special stamps on July 13, Monday.

The colorful stamps designed by in-house graphic artist Rodine Teodoro illustrate Filipino frontliners, including doctors, medical staff, military, police officers, and food-service personnel. Each stamp bears the tagline "We Fight for You."

"This postage stamp is our simple way of uplifting and boosting their [morale] and making them feel that their sacrifices are not left unnoticed," Postmaster General Joel Otarra said.

“Ever since, 'yong stamps natin is all about history, culture, and arts—fini-feature natin dito 'yong national heroes natin, tsaka 'yong iba pang nagbibigay ng dangal dito sa bansa. It’s only fitting na 'yong frontliners natin bilang sila 'yong modern-day superheroes, dapat i-honor din sila sa stamps,” Rodine said in an interview with Summit Media.
