Voters' Registration to Resume This July, Says COMELEC

In preparation for the barangay and SK elections.

(SPOT.ph) While the national election is already over (a.k.a. the next Philippine president is already having his inauguration on June 30), there's another Philippine election is happening soon: the 2022 Philippine barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on December 5. And in preparation for this, Commission on Elections' acting spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco announced on Thursday, June 23, that voters' registration will once again take place from July 4 to 23.

An official resolution is yet to be released, he added.

For the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, Filipino voters are expected to vote for Punong Barangay (a.k.a. barangay captain) and members of the Sangguniang Barangay (a.k.a. barangay council). Voting for members of the Sangguniang Kabataan, which leads local youth programs, is limited to voters who are between 15 and 17 years old.
