(SPOT.ph) All good things are worth the wait. A portion of Meralco Avenue in Pasig City will be closed to motorists until 2028 to make way for construction of the subway, announced the Department of Transportation on their Facebook page. At the end of this long waiting period will be the Shaw Boulevard Station of the even more long-awaited subway line Metro Manila deserves. Ideally.

DOTr: Portion of Meralco Avenue closed till 2028 to make way for subway construction
Starting October 3, motorists should avoid the north and southbound lanes of Meralco Avenue in Pasig City. The portion in question covers the front of Capitol Commons until the corner of Shaw Boulevard; this closed-off bit will be the subway project's main access point to the construction area of the Shaw Boulevard Station.
Roads around the area will remain open as alternative routes to private motorists. The transport department released alternative routes for public vehicles.

The Metro Manila Subway Project, or MMSP, is a massive undertaking (literally) that will result in us having a 36-kilometer long train line stretching from Valenzuela City to Parañaque City, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 station included. We'll have to adjust immensely while it's being made, but fingers crossed it will all be worth it.
