Commuters, EDSA Carousel Rides are Now Free 24/7 for the Whole of December

(SPOT.ph) Commuters can ride the EDSA Carousel bus 24/7 for the whole month of December, the Department of Transportation said today, November 15, as the government expanded the scope of the Libreng Sakay program.

The start date of 24/7 free rides was moved earlier to December 1 from December 15 to 31, as earlier announced. Mall operators also earlier agreed to adjust their operating hours, now at 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

"Ang inisyatibong ito ng DOTr at LTFRB ay paraan upang siguruhin na may masasakyan ang lahat ng ating mga pasahero beyond the usual operating hours sa EDSA Busway," Transportation Sec. Jaime Bautista said in a statement.

"Bukod sa hindi na nila kailangang isipin ang pamasahe, makasisiguro rin sila na mabilis ang kanilang magiging pagbyahe," he added.

The new policy will also be implemented in line with the adjusted 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. operating hours of Metro Manila malls during the holiday season which will last until January 6, 2023.
