(SPOT.ph) Social Security System members who have yet to receive the UMID card they applied for can now upgrade it to an ATM Pay Card for free, allowing them to easily claim benefits and loans, the state insurer said Thursday, November 24.
The UMID ATM Pay Card serves as an identification card and a debit card which members can use to receive SSS loans, claim proceeds, and make refunds.
It can also be used to make cashless payments at any retail and online outlet and withdraw funds through ATM or online bank transfer.
Who can upgrade to the UMID ATM Pay Card?
Members who applied for a generic UMID card that are still pending release can apply for a free upgrade to a UMID ATM Pay Card, SSS said.
The state insurer has yet to confirm whether members with existing UMID cards can also apply for an upgrade.
Those who will avail of the free upgrade will get a P200 electronic gift certificate from Jollibee and could win a Mitsubishi Xpander in a raffle draw sponsored by the UnionBank.
How to upgrade to the UMID ATM Pay Card
Qualified members who want to upgrade to the UMID ATM Pay Card must be registered in the SSS website at https://member.sss.gov.ph/members and that his or her SSS information is correct and up to date.
To apply, qualified members should:
- Access in the My.SSS account the “Data Sharing Consent for UMID Pay Card” under the “Services” menu to signify their consent to share their UMID Application Data with UnionBank.
- After submitting the consent, download the UnionBank mobile app by scanning the QR code in the email invite that they received or from the Google Store/App Store/Huawei Play Store to open a UMID Pay Card account.
- The UnionBank mobile app will display a notification that the member successfully opened a UMID Pay Card account with UBP.
