Road Rage Incident Goes Viral as People Try to Identify Gun-Wielding Driver
A cyclist was at the receiving end of the driver's ire.
(SPOT.ph) Calls to help identify the driver of a car who brought out a gun while confronting a cyclist have gone viral online. A screenshot of a clip posted by lawyer Raymond Fortun on August 27 shows a middle-aged man holding a gun as he faces a cyclist. The lawyer took to Facebook to ask for help identifying him in a post that has been shared 131,000 times with around 4,500 comments as of writing.

Road rage incident goes viral
"The cycling community is requesting for help to identify this individual," wrote Fortun, who is also an endurance cyclist. According to the lawyer, the incident happened around 6 p.m. on August 8 near the Welcome Rotonda. The driver of a Red Kia allegedly "cut across this cyclist, assaulted and pulled out a gun on the unarmed cyclist, a criminal offense under our penal laws. He appears to be a government employee, in light of a lapel pin," wrote Fortun.
"The cyclist wants to file criminal charges, but forgot to get the car’s license plate out of fear for his life," he added, clarifying in the comments that he can and will be representing the cyclist in cases like these. Though as of writing, there is no news of a formal case being filed.
While it is not clear if the driver's identity has been found, Fortun updated their post to state that they have the car's details, including the name of the registered owner and their address. The comments' section was full of people condemning the driver's actions and also helping out with other details that might help with the identification.

Erwin Tulfo reacts to viral road rage incident
Meanwhile, Erwin Tulfo posted on his Facebook page calling out the driver. "ARAW NA LANG AT SISIKAT KA NA DAHIL SA PAGBUBUNOT MO NG BARIL AT PAGKASA NITO SA ISANG SIKLISTA. MATAPANG KA LANG MANONG DAHIL MAY BARIL KA!!!" wrote the representative of the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support Partylist in all capital letters on August 27.
"ABANGAN ANG PANGALAN AT TRABAHO NG ROAD RAGE DRIVER NA ITO…" continued Tulfo. In the comments, he explained that with the Land Transportation Office closed today and tomorrow (a holiday), Tuesday would be the earliest the information will be available.
In another post, Tulfo put up a picture of the LTO portal showing what seems to be the registered details of the Kia. According to the congressman, the owner is a woman. "ANTABAYANAN ANG PANGALAN NG ROAD RAGE DRIVER NA ITO SA MARTES 29 AUGUST," he wrote.
