Yup, Corner House also has a beauty and wellness clinic.

(SPOT.ph)  San Juan's Corner House can't be missed. This open-air architectural gem is unlike any mall we've seen before in the Metro, and something about its airy spaces makes it feel really more like a community hub than anything else. And tucked into the top floor of this surprisingly large building is Sacred Skin, a beauty and wellness clinic that stays true to the genuine vibe of Corner House.

What to expect at the Sacred Skin Clinic in San Juan's Corner House

Sacred Skin is located in the quieter areas of the open-air hub. We suggest heading to the elevator and pressing the button for the second floor so you can get there fastest; you could also meander your way through Corner House's ups and downs if you're there on a relaxed afternoon. We know the building says the clinic is on the second floor, but it you count your way up from the deli below, it's really at the fourth so your safest bet is the elevator. There's also a list on the elevator of which shops are at which floor to help you out.

There are words of wisdom all around, starting from the moment you enter the clinic.

The clinic is at an almost-corner, allowing it to have two sides encased in glass so there's bright natural light all over. Step inside and you'll be greeted by the clean designs of Sacred Skin, with touches of velvety retro all around.

We were immediately greeted by reception and ushered over to meet Dr. Erika Ty, the resident specialist of the clinic. She recommended the clinic's signature facial service, but better: the Sacred Skin Revive (starting at P3,250). Dr. Ty explained to me that this one also comes with a radiofrequency treatment to give you that healthy glow we all want. It was clear she knew what she was talking about and took the time to explain what was needed and why. After which, she walked with me to the appointment room, all while explaining that they named the clinic Sacred Skin because they wanted their clients to feel as if they were entering a Zen place. Based on the clean and quiet interiors, I definitely felt they achieved their goal.

I've only really had around two facials before this one, so I was glad that Dr. Ty talked me through it beforehand. This was also the first time I would be undergoing a radiofrequency treatment, so I appreciated the time she took to explain it to me.

Review: Sacred Skin Revive facial service

Entering the appointment room also felt like entering an inner sanctum of sorts. It was just the right size, with shelves and a cabinet for your belongings, and made me feel right at home. The aesthetician even very kindly put two cozy blankets on me after I told her that I get cold very easily. Once we were settled in, she went through the service with me once more, but this time in a more detailed step-by-step. She also showed me the machine we would be using for the facial, which had all the attachments she would need to clean, exfoliate, hydrate, infuse; even the radiofrequency attachment was already in the machine.

There's also one room where besties or a couple can go for a pamper sesh.

First things first, she started off with a Premium Facial Massage, which is an add-on service that I think is worth it if you're there for a pamper sesh. The massage focused on the neck and décolletage, as well as a bit on the head, for a relaxing treatment that also worked on sculpting those areas. By the time the one-hour massage was over, I was already fully relaxed, already had a bit of a nap, and was fully excited for the facial treatment to begin.

The aesthetician went through several different steps on my skin. The facial included a cleaning and extraction—the latter is usually the most painful step for me but I barely felt it at Sacred Skin—before bringing out the big guns from the machine nearby.

Several different attachments were meant different purposes. There were two serums that she infused using a special tool; this one both vacuumed and infused the serums. Then there was also a tool that blew oxygen on my face, which felt like very cold steam was being blown unto me. It was oddly relaxing, and I immediately felt my skin tighten from it.

One of my fave parts had to be the face mask and cryo stick combination. A face mask was placed on me and then the aesthetician proceeded to give me a sculpting massage for 10 minutes. The combination of the cool cryo sticks and rejuvenating face mask left me feeling refreshed.

Then came the final and biggest step: the radiofrequency. After applying cream on my face, there were two tools that she used. The first had three knobs on it to help sculpt my jaws and cheekbones, which she used for a few minutes swiping it up and down on each side. It was surprising warm, and got rather hot by the end, but the aesthetician made sure not to overdo it. After the larger areas of my face, another radiofrequency tool with two smaller nodules was used on my undereye to help depuff it. It was also quite warm but the aesthetician was extra careful in this delicate area.

To cap off the facial, the aesthetician put on Vitamin C Serum, some eye cream, and finally sun block to keep me going for the next few hours. She advised me against washing and soaping my face until the next morning as I had done my treatment in the afternoon, and I was good to go. No down-time at all.

Is the Sacred Skin Revive treatment worth it?

Another thing I really appreciated is that there's no down-time. It was straight to glowing post-treatment!

At P3,250 for one session, this facial treatment is a little high up on the price spectrum. But they certainly deliver. You could also get a package for more bang-for-your-buck. If you live nearby, we say this clinic deserves a spot on your list of go-tos.

I felt positively glowing after the Revive treatment. While I could see that my skin was clearer and brighter, not to mention incredibly soft and supple, what I appreciated more was how relaxed I felt. Between the massage, facial, and Sacred Skin's vibes plus the relaxed air of Corner House, I felt really at peace. Chalk it up to their name.
