(SPOT.ph) Nostalgia rules. Just take a peep at how the Gen Z are bringing back the Y2K style; heck, it seems they're already over the '90s, even. But that doesn't mean folks of any age can't bring back the past, or at least, the good times. Rock those colorful retro vibes once more with the latest collection from Uniqlo x MARNI, dropping online and in-store on Friday, December 9. This collab between the Japanese lifewear brand and the Italian label proves just how good your mom and pop's fashion trends were, this time in an updated style that won't look out of place in today's #aesthetic.

We know you copped a piece or two from the first MARNI collab. This time, in place of the breezy cuts and lightweight fabrics, the winter collection is coming at you with a lot of texture—still with the same bright hues that made the first one really pop. And because this is cold-weather wear, expect a lot of opportunities to layer! No worries about making the most of it in our tropical weather, either, as there are a lot of lighter options, too. The new collection features all sorts of pieces, from thick outerwear to HEATTECH-equipped innerwear, skirts, tops, pants, dresses, and even accessories.Â
So why go so bright? For a brand known for its neutral everyday wear, Uniqlo Fast Retailing Group Senior Executive Officer Yukihiro Katsuta points to a certain feeling, "as though the collection matched the needs of people looking for fashion that allowed them to shake off the oppressive mood of recent years." Felt. It's hard not to feel cheery despite well, everything, when you don the winter collection's vibrant pieces.Â
"I wanted to investigate the aesthetic perception of the '60s, flirting with clichés," said MARNI's creative director Francesco Risso in a statement. One look and you'll see just how much the retro look of that era influenced this new collection—and we're far from complaining.Â
