(SPOT.ph) Let's be real here, Studio Ghibli films tug at your heartstrings and make your heart do little flips with its charming characters, magical themes, and pensive storylines you just want to step into. It's just as much a cult-fave Japanese lifewear brand Uniqlo moves you, or more specifically, your wallets with their constant release of collaboration collections under the UT line. No Face from Spirited Away; our giant, friendly forest spirit Totoro, the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro, and even ball-sized fuzzy-haired beings—the susuwatari or "soot sprites"—from both films and so many more iconic illustrations and graphics from Studio Ghibli dance around Uniqlo’s beloved styles and silhouettes. Mix it with the works of Thai artist Kanyada and you get “Hey, Let’s Go,” Uniqlo and Studio Ghibli collaboration.
We spotted UT shirts (P790), of course, as well as open-collar short-sleeve (P1,490) and snug long-sleeve shirts (P1,490) and socks (P200) perfect for the cold weather. Pieces abound for men, women, kids, and even babies. The designs landed in the cult-fave Round Mini Shoulder Bag (P790) as well. We got the TikTok-viral empanada-shaped bags decked with graphics from Studio Ghibli's beloved titles. It might not transport you to the magical Studio Ghibli realms but it’s close. The collection is available exclusively in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia. You can browse them as early as now on the website but it won't be available to cop until August 21 in-stores and online.
