Pastel Colors, USB-C, Specs + More: Apple Unveils the iPhone 15

(SPOT.ph) Either the excitement from the Apple Event, which just happened a few hours ago (September 13 at 1 a.m. PHT; September 12, around 10 a.m. PST), kept you up just like us, or you're confused and surprised by the amount of news the fresh new drops of Apple's latest iterations—especially the iPhone 15 series—are going around. The star of the event, the iPhone 15 series, has four models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Unfortunately, there's no mini version for this series. It has the same size as its predecessor, the iPhone 14 series: 6.1 and 6.7-inch size Super Retina XDR display. 

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be powered by an A16 Bionic chip (same as the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max) with a 5-core GPU, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max use an A17 Pro chip with a 6-core GPU, an "entirely new class of iPhone chip" that delivers best graphics performances (for your gaming purposes). 

One of the major changes in this lineup is its transition from a Lightning cable to a USB-C, which is about damn time, really. The USB-C connector allows you to charge your Mac or iPad, too. Less cable, less clutter.

Specifically for the Pro series, the little toggle on the side to mute and unmute your phones is replaced by an "Action Button" which will lead you to your favorite feature. You will still be able to go on silent mode if you do choose it, but you can also choose to launch different features like Focus, Voice Memo, Camera, Flashlight, and so on with a touch of the button. 

The iPhone 15 series features the Dynamic Island, which we first saw on the last Pro lineup, so do expect the same, sleek pill-shaped cutout for notifications and animations. There's Emergency SOS and Crash Detection, too, for your peace of mind.

Both will help you take super-high resolution photos (for that IG-worthy feed) with 48 megapixels for the main camera featuring a new 24MP default. The iPhone 15 has up to 4x optical zoom range; the Pro series with up to 10x—perfect for your upcoming concerts, we say. You also get all-day battery life with your chosen models: up to 20 (iPhone 15), 26 (iPhone 15 Plus), 23 (iPhone 15 Pro), and 29 (iPhone 15 Pro Max) hours of video playback, respectively.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have aluminum, color-infused glass for the back featuring five beautiful colors, while the Pro and Pro Max feature a new titanium design with a textured matte glass back. 

Said colors of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are the softest blue, pink, yellow, green, and black; while the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max come in four chromatic shades: natural titanium, blue titanium, white titanium, and black titanium.

Apple Watch Series 9

There's a new Apple Watch series on the block, and you can control it without having to touch the screen. Kind of like a superpower, IMO. With the double-tap feature (which will be available later this year) you can answer a call, open a notification, and play or pause music, among others, with just a few taps of your index finger and thumb. Of course, that's aside from its health monitoring, Emergency SOS, and Crash and Fall Detection features. It's powered by the all-new S9 SiP, which is their "most powerful chip in an Apple Watch." All of its cases are swim-proof, dustproof, and crack-resistant.
