FIRST LOOK: Atmos Is Finally in Manila

(SPOT.ph) Metro Manila is a haven for sneakerheads—what with all the brands, stores, and malls popping up throughout all the major cities. The latest among them is the Japan-founded sneaker store, Atmos. If you're well-versed in the sneaker world, then you know that they've actually already been online for a while. But now, they're finally setting up shop in the heart of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, in the Bonifacio High Street Mall, in front of 3rd Avenue.

SPOT.ph got to take a quick look at the Atmos flagship store in Manila before it opens to the public on March 26, Tuesday. Atmos Japan's Creative Director Koji was also present, and he recounted how Atmos came to be. He recalled that the only place to buy sneakers in Japan before was in sports shops. And so, he opened Atmos in Harajuku, so people can buy sneakers fit for their lifestyle.

Aside from the latest streetwear drops, the store also has an "Otaku Room" on the 2nd floor, with coffee served by none other than Yardstick.

It'll be quite hard to miss the storefront of the giant, two-floor sneaker store. Once you step inside, you'll immediately be greeted by a display of soon-to-be-released Nike Air Max DNs.

The walls of the first floor are lined with streetwear, bags, accessories, and of course, shoes that'll be hard to resist.

When you go up the wooden staircase, you'll be welcomed into the Otaku Room. According to Koji, he wanted to create a community that connects with each other, which is how the Otaku Room was conceptualized. It's a space meant for sneaker lovers to meet up, catch up, and share their streetwear passion with each other. Otaku, as anime-lovers would know, means "geek" in Japanese. And he used that term as the name of the space because, "If you're a sneaker collector, you're a sneaker geek."

The bar is set up for coffee served by Yardstick—who have created an Atmos-exclusive drink called the Harajuku Latte. With strawberry-like flavors, it's definitely a can't-miss experience.

There's more than enough space for customers and shoppers to just mingle, relax, and take a sip of their coffee. The comfy sofas that line the walls along with the bar stools make for a great place for conversation—whether it be about your holy grail pair, or that collab you just can't seem to get your hands on.

Brands to shop from the Atmos flagship store in Manila

If you're looking for hard-to-find sneakers—Atmos is your best bet in Manila. They've got the must-have brands for sneakerheads and newbies alike. We spotted the big names on the shelves: Nike, Jordans, adidas, and New Balance. They also have Puma, Asics, Salomon, and the currently trendy On. There's also original Atmos merch like sweaters, hoodies, and shirts.

Koji says he's noticed the trend of running shoes taking over these days, so you can expect their lineup to be stocked. Here's what you can expect when you visit the Atmos flagship store in Manila:

Where is Atmos in Manila?

The first branch of Atmos in the Philippines is located at the ground level of Bonifacio High Street Mall, in front of 3rd Avenue in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. It's located right in front of the Mind Museum, with a direct drop-off point in front of the store.
