(SPOT.ph) It seems like SM Mall of Asia has seen a surge of international brands setting up their first physical stores in the Philippines this year, with even more on the horizon. The latest is cult-fave Japanese brand niko and... which finally opened its doors after its board-up was spotted a few months ago. The SPOT.ph team got an exclusive peek at its first-ever PH store, and, of course, we're taking you along with us.

Cult-favorite Japanese brand niko and... opens its first PH store in SM Mall of Asia.
It was in October that the humongous board-up of niko and... caught the attention of shopaholics, and we've been waiting for the day it opens since then to cop the brand's lifestyle items. That day has finally come just weeks before the year ends—it seems like the shopping gods aren't letting this year end without a bang.
Our first impression: The store is huge. We guessed it from the board-up, but nothing prepared us for the actual opening. From the storefront alone, you'd think it's just divided into three sections: women's and men's styles, and home essentials. However, there's a lot more to explore at the back, including a shortcut to the MOA Food Hall through the niko and... coffee nook (but we'll get to that later). There will be a whole awful lot of offerings, so best be prepared.
We wanted to start at the front of the store first, where niko and... showcases its wide range of street-style clothes. On the far left, you'll find women's fashion, while men's styles are located on the far right. Rest assured that both sections have versatile silhouettes that can be styled however you want. In the middle of the store, you'll discover a well-curated selection of home goods.
Any fashion enthusiast would have a field day inside, likely to grab multiple pieces of clothes as they traverse the expansive store. In the women's style section, there's a range of modern and contemporary tops, as well as bottoms, dresses, and even outerwear to pair them with. After a shopping spree here, you'll be ready to turn heads on the streets of Tokyo (is Tokyo ready for you?).
To put the icing on top of the cake, this section offers a wide selection of shoes and accessories like bags, jewelry, and hats, among other pieces to elevate your style. Additionally, there's a dedicated pink spot for the tiy nie yee brand, where anik-anik girlies can find the cutest charms and accessories for their collection. The fitting room is conveniently located next to tiy nie yee.
Moving to the middle part of the niko and... store, you'll find a haven for all kinds of home goods. The shelves showcase a mix of functional and stylish products—don't be surprised if you end up wanting to buy them all. Whether you need practical items like mugs, plates, and bowls or fun accessories like cat and shark slippers, there's plenty to love here. The store even offers bath and laundry essentials, including fabric and room mists from Laundromat & Tub.
The stationery section features a variety of pretty items, too, including notebooks from the popular brand Penco. It's almost impossible to leave without purchasing a few things from this section, whether you're drawn to the cute animal stickers, postcards, and calendars or the tita-friendly home decor like vintage and retro figurines.
And since it's Christmas in a few days' time, niko and... has a festive selection of decorations on display. From glittering balls and ornaments for your tree (and if you don't have a tree yet, then you can also get one here) to beautiful wreaths and greeting cards, you'll find everything you need to create a holiday wonderland at home.
Now, the farthest right corner caters to the men's styles, offering clean cuts and minimalist designs and colors. Similar to the women's section, there are dedicated areas for footwear, hats, and accessories like glasses. At the back of this section, niko and... showcases their Numerals line, featuring more of the basic essentials and urban athleisure pieces.
Just right outside the men's section is an area for travel and outdoor gear. Here, you'll find essentials for THOR and equipment. Like to camp? Camping chairs, tumblers, and utensils are available. Need durable luggage for your next adventure? This store has got you covered, too.
We're not done yet. At the faaaaar back of the store, there's a corner for shoppers who need a much-deserved break. The cozy niko and... coffee nook has it all, including a counter and a few seating areas for when you're waiting for your cup of joe. This space offers coffee, frappes, teas, and even ice cream, with prices starting at P120. And if you're starving from all the shopping and looking for (more) food options, the MOA Food Hall is just outside of the coffee nook.
Where to find niko and... in Metro Manila?
The first-ever niko and... store in the Philippines is located on the third floor of the main mall of SM Mall of Asia, Seaside Boulevard, Pasay City. You can also check out their items online through their website and on Zalora.
