Sonny Angels Spring Collection + Price Increase

(SPOT.ph) Spring is almost here. You might wonder how we know, especially since we don't have a traditional spring season in our country. The answer? Cherry blossoms are blooming on everything. Even our favorite little angel boy—and arguably the figure who sparked the blind box craze—Sonny Angel is joining the spring celebration with pretty pink blooms. Avid collectors of this cult-favorite blind box won't be able to resist the Sonny Angel Cherry Blossom Series. Yup, it's making a comeback with all-new designs.

Sonny Angel is dressed in cherry blossoms in this limited-edition drop. 

You can always carry spring with you when you have these cute little angel boys from this limited-edition series. Whether relaxing in a coffee shop or walking around Salcedo dates, show off your hanami-themed Sonny Angels as they hang inside your clear pouches. They'll be perfect models for your picture-perfect food and aesthetic shots, too.

The Cherry Blossom Series features Sonny Angel in a charming pose, sitting with his hands resting on his cheeks, adorned with pink and floral details. He wears various animal head gear, including a rabbit, fawn, parrot, sheep, calico cat, and goat – these are the six regular figures. In addition, there are two secret designs: Sonny Angel and Robby Angel transformed into beautifully blooming cherry blossoms.

You know the drill: the character remains a mystery until you open the box. That's the fun and thrill of blind boxes. Sonny Angels has over a dozen series to collect (Animal Series, Fruit Series, Flower Series, even the HIPPERS one). The Cherry Blossom Series will be released on March 21, at least in Japan. Release dates may vary by country.

Sonny Angel + Smiskis to increase prices

Along with the news of the new Sonny Angel series comes news of a price increase on the Sonny Angel and the SMISKI mini figures starting March 1. The increase is said to be due to "increase of prices of various and raw materials as well as other expense rises."

For the Sonny Angel series, including Animal Series 1-4, Sweets, Fruit, Vegetable, Flower, and Marine, the price will increase from ¥1,100 (approximately P425.88) to ¥1,210 (approximately P468.46). The Birthday Gift, Birthday Gift Bear, Flower Gift, and Hippers (Harvest, Dreaming, and Looking Back) will rise from ¥1,320 (approximately P511.05) to ¥1,430 (approximately P553.64)

The SMISKIs, too, will hike prices. The Series 1, Toilet, Bath, Living, Bed, Yoga, Cheer, Museum, @Work, Dressing, Exercising, and Moving mini-figures will increase from ¥1,100 (approximately P425.88) to ¥1,210 (approximately P468.46). The HIPPERS and the Toothbrush Stand Series will go from ¥1,320 to ¥1,430 (approximately P553.64).

The ¥110 difference is equivalent to P42.55. However, according to Sonny Angel PH's Instagram page via Stories, the following increase in the PH is as follows:

• Regular series: P489 to P499
• HIPPERS series: P549 to P599
• Gift series: P549 to P599
• Limited series: P599 to P629
