10 Pet-Friendly Malls in Metro Manila

Your pets need some retail therapy, too!

(SPOT.ph) Over nine million households across the country have at least one dog. While they need outdoor time and exercise, we don’t have a lot of parks in the city, let alone dog parks. We do have plenty of malls, and fortunately more and more of these retail places are turning pet-friendly. You can now take your pets with you on quick errands, or just for a fun day out. They are our best friend, after all. So why can't they be our best shopping buddies, too?

Here are malls in Metro Manila that you can visit with your pet:

Robinsons Magnolia

At selected Robinsons malls in Metro Manila like Robinsons Magnolia, Robinsons Place Las Piñas, and Robinsons Place Novaliches, you can sign up to be part of their Happy Pets Club so you could bring your pets to their establishments. Just fill out an application form and bring your pet's vaccination record and your pet's 1x1 colored photo. There are no fees, but you'll have to present accumulated receipts worth P3,000. The community's grand launch happens in October, where there will be activities like blessing of pets, and even free vet consultations and anti-rabies vaccinations.

SM Aura Premier

Did you know that pets are allowed inside SM malls? You don't even need to sign up for pet passes! The only caveat is that your pet must always be hand-carried when inside the premises, or be carried inside pet carriers like bags or strollers when indoors. Certain restaurants and food establishments do allow pets, however, like Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The mall also has Pet Express, where you can take your furbaby and shop for everything they need.

SM Aura Premier is at C5 corner 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City.

Uptown Mall

If you want to bring your pet to Uptown Mall at Uptown Bonifacio, you can sign up for a pet pass. All you need to present is your pet's original vaccination records, two 1x1 colored photos of your pet, and an accomplished registration form you can get at the concierge. The pass is valid for as long as your pet's rabies vaccination is valid, too. (That's usually one whole year.)

They do have a few rules for pet owners though, such as carrying your pets when going up and down the escalator and keeping them leashed while you're walking around the mall. If you're dining with your pets at the al fresco areas, make sure you cover the seats with plastic or paper before seating them. Of course, it's also the pet owner's responsibility to clean up after their pets in case they make a mess.

Unlike other SM Supermalls like SM Aura Premier or The Podium, Mall of Asia (MOA) is more relaxed about pets roaming around. While they do need to wear diapers, you can put them down and let them walk around while leashed. MOA is also large and right by the bay, where you and your pet can take a nice stroll and get some exercise while enjoying the sunset view. Pets are allowed inside certain restaurants like Harry's or Racks; or let them enjoy some pampering at the pet café, groomers, and hotel—The Paw Club!

SM Mall of Asia is at Seaside Boulevard, Pasay City.

Eastwood Mall

Similar to Uptown Bonifacio, you would also need a Pet Pass if you want to bring your pet to Eastwood Mall. You can also take your pets to Bark Central—their indoor, off-leash dog park where you can relax while your dog enjoys the place with his/her fellow canines. At P400 an hour, your pet can use the ball pit and agility courses with trained staff on standby. Bark Central also offers grooming services and obedience training! They even have a café where you and your pet can enjoy treats after your fun afternoon.

At Power Plant Mall, pet owners can sign up for a Pet Pawsport by getting an application form at the concierge. You just have to make sure you always have your Pawsport when you bring your pet to the mall for a hassle-free mall trip with your furbaby. It's a great place to bring your pet—it's not too crowded and has pedestrian-friendly streets.

You can take them into the stores with you, provided that they are wearing diapers. If you're eating with them, you'll also need to make sure that you clean up after them.

This open-air shopping strip in Bonifacio Global City hits two birds with one stone. There are open, green spaces where your pet can get some exercise, and you can walk around for some window shopping. You can also dine with your pets in the al fresco dining areas of restaurants. No registration needed for the open-air area, you just have to be a responsible pet owner.
