Greenhills Shopping Center Will Be Temporarily Closed Starting March 15
Including Promenade Mall, Theater Mall, and Santolan Town Plaza.
(SPOT.ph) In connection to the "community quarantine" declared by President Rodrigo Duterte which will begin on Sunday, March 15, the Metro Manila Council have unanimously passed a resolution to impose an 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew in Metro Manila. While some malls in the Metro have already adjusted their mall hours to comply with the curfew, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora announced in a statement on March 14 that San Juan City malls will be temporarily closed beginning March 15. Malls that are expected to be closed indefinitely include the Greenhills Shopping Center, Promenade, Theater Mall, and Santolan Town Plaza.
"Mayor Francis Zamora has coordinated with Greenhills Shopping Center, Promenade, Theater Mall, and the Santolan Town Plaza in San Juan City for their temporary closure starting March 15, 2020," the statement reads. "During an emergency meeting of the Metro Manila Council at the MMDA earlier today, the mayors of all 17 LGUs agreed to close the malls in their respective cities and set a curfew for their constituents from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. These LGUs will pass ordinances for these purposes."
Other city mayors have yet to make a statement regarding the closure of the malls in their respective areas.
